Dachshund Dog
Dachshund dog is popularly known as Wiener dog. In the last few decades, this breed has got acceptance as a pet dog. Earlier, dachshund dog was considered to be a hunting dog. The breed needs great pet care. The dog has it's origin in Germany.
Although dachshund dog comes in the category of small dogs, its courage and occasional aggression is no less than that of bigger dogs.
Since the breed has it's link with hounds, they happen to be blessed with exceptional olfactory capability. The breed is very tough and hard working by nature and needs loads of exercises as a pet dog. Normally, these small dogs weigh around ten to sixteen pounds. It's very small breed even weighs less than ten pounds. It possesses long hairy skin. Also, following are some of the traits of this breed:
* Although it's a small breed, it's features resemble those of a larger breed. The dog happens to be very muscular.
* Proper dog grooming and dog brushing becomes a prerequisite with this breed.
* Their domestication requires enough training or sessions on domestic dog behavior.
* This breed, once trained enjoys socializing with humans and are worth watching for their endearing manners in festivities.
* They need to learn to behave properly with strangers.
* The dogs keep barking constantly if they find something unusual.
* They are less prone to diseases.
* In absence of proper dog feeding, the dog may suffer from fatigue. The dog happens to be a vociferous eater and it often falls prey to overeating.
* They must be provided with proper workouts.
* They must be imparted potty training immediately after dog adoption.
