The Belgian Malinois: A Bomb Detection Dog

The Belgian Malinois is most commonly known as bomb detection dog. These pups have attained recognition in armed forces and police units as rescue dogs, who have helped the police in detecting bombs and narcotic drugs.

Puppies of this breed look exactly like German Shepherds but a close look may prove you wrong. Bravery, intelligence, loyalty, courage are the innate traits of the dog behavior of this breed. This puppy is very loyal to his owner and most of the dog lovers just love him for this quality or trait. He is always watchful, alert or protective but is never bad. You may also train dogs of this breed to become "attack dog". But, you won't encounter any type of dog aggression from this canine.

He will only do what you command him to do. They are famous for their strong smelling sense and expertness in the ring sport of Schutzhund. They are moderately built. Their appearance is exactly like German Shepherds and the possess the coat of same color too. They are the lords of great power and energy. They are too active and energetic and thus work perfectly as rescue dogs. They come in black color normally, but the shade may vary from gray to red to tan to black.

Dog grooming of this breed is easy. You may brush their hair using soft bristle or medium stiff brush, once in a week. But, they don't shed hair heavily and keep your floor, carpet and mat clean and hair-free. There are few problems related to dog health of this breed. So, you really need to take care of them.
